Olive Oil should be stored in cool and dry places away from heat and light. Avoid storing our Olive Oil in clear glass bottles and make sure that the bottle is always sealed to prevent oxidation.

Can I cook with Extra Virgin Olive Oil?

EVOO has a higher smoke point than people think, which makes it perfectly good for cooking and will retain most of its health benefits.

Is the filtered and unfiltered Olive Oil the same?

Both our filtered and unfiltered Olive Oil is a produced from the same olives, harvested from the same Olive groves. The difference is that one has had the fruit particles & sediment removed leaving it clear in appearance and also increasing it's shelf-life.

Why is single-variety or single-origin important?

Single-origin olive oil is usually of higher quality than any blended oils, just because it is made from a specific variety of olives grown in a specific location. This gives us the opportunity to properly control the growing conditions and the harvest time, which can result in a superior quality product. Single-origin olive oil is characterised by a unique flavour profile that is specific to the location where it was grown. The taste can vary depending on the soil, climate, and altitude, as well as the type of olives used.

Is your Olive Oil cold extracted?

Yes, we only use cold extraction methods to ensure that the superior quality of our Olive Oil is maintained, as well as all the sensitive aromatic properties. This also helps to preserve all the antioxidants and nutrients that Olive Oil includes.

Can Kólpos Olive Oil be found in retail shops?

Unfortunately, no, our Olive Oil is only available directly from our Website / E-shop. This is so we can provide you with the highest quality First Harvest EVOO, avoiding mass production and the excessive mark-ups from larger retailers.

Where is your Olive Oil produced?

Kólpos Olive Oil is produced from our family groves located at the borders between the county of Elis and Messenia, and specifically at the mouth of the river Neda.

What is the expiration date of your Olive Oil?

Whilst some other brands suggest that their extra virgin olive oils are good for consumptions for up to 24 months, we strongly suggest that our product is consumed with a period of up to 16 months. This will ensure that any bottle of Kólpos will maintain it’s flavour and all the health benefits within this period.

Is Kólpos Olive Oil Vegan?

Yes, Olive oil is a completely plant-derived product that is made entirely from olives, and it does not require animals for sourcing or processing in any way.
